In March 2010 the government announced their Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI) proposal. One of the key aims of this project was to provide high speed internet to rural areas such as Southland & Fiordland. This project is ongoing and uses 3G & 4G Broadband Extended technology from cellular providers. It's available wherever a signal can be received from the nearest upgraded cell tower.
This is a much cheaper, faster and more reliable alternative to Satellite Internet in terms of cost and quite often can be quicker even to the traditional landline based internet in towns.
CSCS are proud to be the Southland installation agents for the Rivernet Rural Broadband products that use the RBI service. We recommend this as your internet supplier anywhere around Southland and Fiordland as speeds can be reached of up to 20mbps. Contact us for more information or click here to download the brochure.
